AUGUST SHOWS, A BOOKING TIP, AND ONE LAST TEE TIME

Late July, and the calendar saves the loudest for last. AC/DC and Sarah McLachlan take the city tonight. Then August arrives, and it’s the biggest month of the summer: three stadium nights, the last of the mountain festivals, and our tournament on the 7th. Here’s what’s worth booking ahead.

Four Questions to Ask Before You Book Any Event Car

August is stadium season, and stadium nights are where event transportation quietly goes wrong. Whether you book with us or not, these are the four questions worth asking before you hand over a card.

Where exactly will the driver be? “Out front” means nothing at Coors Field on a sold-out night. You want a named lot, gate, or corner, texted to you before you leave the house.

Does the driver stay, or drop and go? Event service means your driver stays on site or comes back on a set window. A one-way drop leaves you in the pickup scrum at 11 PM with tens of thousands of other people.

What happens if the night runs long, or you leave early? Encores run late. Sometimes the third opener is plenty. Your ride should flex both ways without a phone tree.

Who am I actually texting the night of? A dispatch line and your driver’s cell are not the same thing. You want the person behind the wheel, not a queue.

Ask those four before every event booking, all summer. The answers tell you everything.

The Market Tournament: One Last Note Before the 7th

Our charity partner’s golf tournament is Friday, August 7, at Red Hawk Ridge Golf Course in Castle Rock. We’re a premium sponsor, five years running, and this is the last time I’ll mention it before the day.

A few playing and sponsorship slots are still open. If you’ve been meaning to ask, this is the week. Hit reply and I’ll connect you with the team running it.

Whatever you decide, thanks for letting us bang the drum for a cause we believe in.

— WHAT’S COMING

A few things worth marking as summer turns the corner:

The last of it. Union Peak Festival at Copper (August 28-30) and the Colorado Dragon Boat Festival at Sloan’s Lake (August 29) close out the month. The final Red Rocks runs of the summer book their rides out fast.

Fall is a planning season. Corporate travel picks back up after Labor Day, and the smartest ski-season transfers get reserved in September, not December. If your winter is already taking shape, an early word gets you the dates you want.

Not just concerts. The Buell has Beetlejuice (August 4-9) and Spamalot (August 11-23) if your August leans more matinee than mosh pit. Same door-to-door service, downtown and back.
